Is there a list of M25 member libraries ?
All of the member institutions and their constituent campus libraries can be viewed in the alphabetical List of Libraries. See the following questions on how to identify institutions by geographic location and/or subject.
How do I find libraries that cover my subject ?
A list of subject terms, covering both broad and specific subjects, can be found on the Find-a-library page in Step 1a. To identify the institutions with declared holdings in any given subject, undertake the following procedure:
- Scroll down the alphabetical list of terms as necessary, and use the left-hand mouse button to select the subject terms you require.
- Press the Search button in Step 2.
You will then be presented with the (similar looking) Search Results page, which lists only the relevant institutions.
How do I select more than one subject ?
Your selection may contain multiple subject terms. Each time a subject term is selected by using the left-hand mouse button, the term is added to the list displayed on the screen.
Subject terms can also be deleted from your selection by using the left-hand mouse button on the "Remove" link beside each subject term displayed.
What is the coverage of the location "zones" ?
To help focus the coverage of your search, the M25 Consortium has defined three geographically exclusive zones:
- Inner
- Centred on Westminster and the City, and spanning the River Thames, the Inner zone corresponds to Transport for London's travel zones 1 and 2.
- North
- Covers the area outside of the Inner zone that is north of the River Thames. Extends as far as Buckinghamshire and parts of Oxfordshire in the north-west, Cambridgeshire in the north and Essex in the north-east.
- South
- Covers the area outside of the Inner zone that is south of the River Thames. Extends as far as Berkshire and part of Oxfordshire in the south-west, West Sussex in the south and Kent in the east.
Notes:
- Some multi-campus institutions have libraries in more than one zone.
- Some campus libraries are very close to the irregular boundary defined by the River Thames. For InforM25 purposes, each library location is limited to just one of the three zones defined above. Two examples are St. Mary's University College, Twickenham Information Resources Centre (North zone) and the University of Greenwich Maritime Campus Library (South zone).
The institutions within each zone are listed below.

How do I find libraries that are near me ?
The process by which you find libraries in a particular M25 geographical zone is as follows:
- An interactive map of the south east of England is displayed within Find-a-library. The map is partitioned into three M25 geographical zones.
- Place the cursor on the map in the required zone, or over the zone name at the bottom of the map, and then depress the left-hand mouse button to select that zone. The on-screen map display will change to indicate the zone is selected.
- Press the Search button in Step 2.
- Review the list of subjects to determine whether any conceptually similar terms to those already used might additionally be selected.
- You might need to introduce additional M25 geographical zones to broaden your search.
Once you have followed this procedure, you will be presented with the (similar looking) Search Results page, which lists only the relevant institutions.
How do I select more than one zone ?
You can select and deselect zones simply by moving the cursor and clicking the left-hand mouse button, either on the map, or on the zone names at the bottom of the map. Thus you may easily select more than one zone.
Once you have made your selection, proceed as normal to the Search button in Step 2.
I didn't find any libraries, what next ?
If your initial selection criteria proved unsuccessful, you should consider the following options:
How do I search the catalogues of the libraries I've found ?
Having made your selection, and duly progressed to the Search Results , you should observe a new "Go" button in Step 3. By pressing this, you will advance to the Search-catalogues service of InforM25. All of the institutional catalogues relating to your set of libraries from Find-a-library will be pre-selected to be searched. Complete the steps to search the available library catalogues.
Where can I find information about the libraries ?
Find-a-library lists the campus libraries of each M25 Consortium institution. In addition, the campus name is a link to fuller information about the library collection, contact & location details, opening hours, travel directions, etc..
Is there an online street map service ?
For copyright reasons, we are not able to offer direct links to the relevant sections of any online map service. However, you may wish to locate identified campus libraries by reference to such third-party services as Streetmap.
Can I search the library catalogue of an institution directly ?
Yes. Find-a-library lists each institution's campus libraries. Each such entry links to an information page that in turn provides a direct link to the institution's own online library catalogue.
